Help eliminate the worst forms of child labour by 2016.
The Child Labour Dialogues are the arena for public contributions to the III Global Conference on Child Labour in Brasilia, held October 8-10, 2013. The goal of the Dialogues are to engage the public in discussions about the challenges related to eradicating child labour and to enable the exchange of practices and lessons learned.
All contributions to the Dialogues will be compiled and shared among the Conference’s invited experts in order to update and enrich the event’s discussions and decisions on eliminating the worst forms of child labour by 2016.
The platform features six thematic rooms that will be moderated by specialists from recognized institutions for their role in combating child labour.
One room is dedicated to the discussion and collection of contributions to the Conference Draft Base Document This document will provide the basis to the Conference Final Declaration. The remaining four rooms represent the four axes of the Roadmap for Achieving the Elimination of the Worst Forms of Child Labour by 2016, adopted during the Global Conference on Child Labour in 2010:
- Social Protection;
- Education and Training;
- National Legislation and Enforcement; and
- Labour Market Policy;
In the Youth room, children and adolescents can express their views on the main challenges and measures needed to accelerate the elimination of the worst forms of child labour. Children and adolescents will also be encouraged to discuss their concerns about work and education.
